Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage inventory control, including ordering and purchasing hardgoods.
• Oversee the receiving of products and direct their placement within the store.
• Lead a team to understand and achieve business goals, including maximizing sales, controlling wages and overtime, overseeing the cost of goods sold, and maximizing gross profit.
• Stay informed on the latest trends in garden center retail and assist with creating displays to enhance sales.
• Provide excellent customer service to both wholesale and retail clients.
• Implement company policies and safety requirements effectively.
• Report weekly to the Department Head on the division’s performance.
• Foster a positive and meaningful work experience for all co-workers.

Qualifications

• 2-year college degree or 3 years of hands-on experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of plants and related products.
• Proficiency in computer skills and POS operating experience.
• Strong merchandising knowledge.
• Flexible schedule with mandatory weekends and overtime during busy seasons.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
• Strong communication skills for giving direction and conversing with team members.
